Clark on The Politics Chicks: Why Local Leadership Matters
I recently sat down with Christy Branham and Monica Healy on The Politics Chicks podcast for a wide-ranging conversation about local government, why it matters, and what Plymouth's next chapter could look like.
We talked about my path from civic volunteer to city council member to deputy mayor, and why I decided this was the right moment to run for mayor. We dug into what a mayor actually does in a council-manager city like Plymouth, why nonpartisan local races deserve real attention even without the noise of national politics, and the specific decisions the city council makes that shape residents' everyday lives. I also shared my thinking on Plymouth's housing future, our upcoming 2050 Comprehensive Plan, and some of the harder decisions that come with serving in local government.
