City council member and deputy mayor to seek citywide leadership role

Plymouth, MN (June 9, 2026) — Clark Gregor announced today his candidacy for Mayor of Plymouth. Gregor, who has served on the Plymouth City Council since 2022 and as deputy mayor this year, says the city is ready for its next chapter — and that he's ready to lead it.

"Plymouth is an extraordinary community, and I've had the privilege of serving it at every level of local government for nearly a decade," said Gregor. "I'm running because the challenges ahead — especially housing affordability — demand experienced, decisive leadership, and I'm ready to provide it."

Gregor has served Plymouth since 2017, including on the Environmental Quality Committee, the Charter Commission and the Planning Commission, before being elected as an at-large city council member. This year he has served as deputy mayor, leading council meetings, making difficult decisions, and fulfilling ceremonial and legal duties including delivering the State of the City address.

During his council tenure, Gregor built a record spanning housing, fiscal stewardship, and environmental leadership. On housing, he helped pass Plymouth's inclusionary housing policy, establish a housing trust fund, create new TIF districts, and launch 4D and Housing Improvement Area programs. On fiscal matters, he supported Plymouth's business community, helped secure state DEED grants for local employers, and contributed to maintaining the city's lowest-in-the-region tax rate. On the environment, he championed citywide compost collection, a climate action plan, an energy action plan, and solar installations on city buildings. He has also worked to expand green spaces, strengthen community institutions, and ensure every resident has a voice.

"I've listened, built relationships, and gotten things done even when it wasn't the easy path," said Gregor. "I want to spend the coming months engaging with Plymouth residents directly–in parks, neighborhoods, and community gatherings–and then bring that same drive to the mayor's office."

Gregor's priorities as mayor include expanding housing affordability, supporting sustainable economic growth, strengthening public safety, protecting Plymouth's environment, and ensuring every resident has a voice in their city's future.
