How does Plymouth keep track of roughly 40,000 public trees?

Resident Greg asked in my latest Ask Clark video, and the answer is one of my favorite things the city has done recently. Plymouth launched Minnesota's first Smart Tree Inventory, using vehicle-mounted sensors and 3D scanning to map our public trees in just a few weeks. Now our forestry team can spot problems early, plan replacements, and keep our tree canopy healthy.

And it's paid for through our Tree Preservation Fund, which comes from developer fees, not property taxes.
